Jack’s Stories is a project that shares the childhood and life tales of the Wollensak family through Jack Wollensak’s memory. Jack Wollensak grew up in Rochester, New York in the 1940s with his parents Andrew and Marguerite, and his three siblings, Dick, Ed, and Andrea. He studied at the College of the Holy Cross followed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a time during which he met his wife, Barbara Ross. Jack’s Stories is a testament to Jack’s family, children, and the Wollensak legacy.

This is a 10-minute digital excerpt from a reel-to-reel tape from played on a Wollensak tape recorder during Barb and Jack’s engagement party in Rochester, NY in 1957.

Jack and Ed reflect on their summers at the lake house in Sodus, NY through stories of gatherings with friends and family, games, parties, and picking cherries.
